Get Started with a Private Cloud Certification

Companies are looking for IT professionals who can help them build private cloud solutions to optimize IT service delivery.

With Windows Server 2008 and System Center 2012, you can build your Microsoft private cloud solution and gain the automation and flexibility you need for your IT infrastructure, now and in the future. Do you have experience with these technologies? Are you ready to begin the journey to cloud computing with a Microsoft private cloud implementation? Become Private Cloud certified and prove your knowledge and skills in managing and implementing Microsoft private cloud computing technologies.


How to Prepare

The Private Cloud certification is built on Windows Server 2008 R2 and System Center 2012. It validates your ability to configure, deploy, monitor, and operate a Microsoft private cloud solution, which transforms the way IT services are delivered. Our System Center 2012 exams are not released yet, but you can get a head start on your Private Cloud certification by passing the following Windows Server 2008 exams:

  • Exam 70-640: Windows Server 2008 Active Directory, Configuring
  • Exam 70-642: Windows Server 2008 Network Infrastructure, Configuring
  • Exam 70-646: Windows Server 2008, Server Administrator

A limited number of System Center 2012 beta exams will be available at the Microsoft Management Summit in April.


How to Obtain Certification

Once you have completed your MCITP Server Administrator Certification or MCTS Windows Server Certification, you will be eligible to take two exams to achieve your Private Cloud Certification. These exams are:

  • Exam 70-246: Private Cloud Monitoring and Operations with System Center 2012
  • Exam 70-247: Private Cloud Configuration and Deployment with System Center 2012

*Note: Exams 70-247 and 70-246 are not yet available. Please check back frequently for updated release information.

The private cloud certification requires candidates to show continued ability to perform in this technology area by completing a re-certification exam every three years.
