Summary
This 4-day course is a mix of in-depth instructor led training and hands-on labs that focuses on the core features and tasks in System Center Essentials 2007 to provide the Essentials 2007 administrator and consultant the information they require to successfully install, configure and manage Essentials 2007. Included throughout are tips, tricks and best practices based on the extensive field experience of the course authors and instructors.
Prerequisites:
Before attending this course, students should have:
- Experience with Windows 2003 Server administration
- MCSA certification, or equivalent knowledge
The course materials, lectures, and lab exercises are written in US English. To benefit fully from the course requires an understanding of both verbal and written English language and completion of the prerequisites are recommended.
Course Materials and Software:
The student kit includes a comprehensive workbook and with detailed hands-on labs for the course. No software is provided in the student kit but a 120-day evaluation of System Center Essentials 2007 is available on the Microsoft web site.

Pete Zerger is a consulting partner with AKOS Technology Services (http://www.akosts.com), where he focuses on design and deployment of enterprise operations and systems management, directory services, and messaging solutions. Pete holds an MCSE for Messaging, and an MCTS for SQL Server 2005. He is a Microsoft MVP for Operations Manager and Essentials 2007 and has been working with Essentials since early beta. He is founder of systemcenterforum.org, a popular community site covering focusing on Operations Manager 2007, Essentials 2007 and the Microsoft System Center Suite.
Björn Axéll is a senior consultant at Advisec AB, an infrastructure solutions provider based in Sweden that specializes in Microsoft infrastructure solutions, including System Center Essentials. He has been working with System Center Essentials since early beta and in product focus groups since before the first beta release. Björn is a Microsoft MVP for Operations Manager and Essentials 2007.
