(5 Days)
Introduction
This course focuses on providing the skills and
knowledge necessary to install, operate, and troubleshoot a small to
medium-size branch office Enterprise network, including configuring several
Cisco Catalyst switches and Cisco routers, connecting to a WAN and
implementing network security.
Audience
Individuals with a background in data networking with some experience
with Cisco routers and switches or have attended the Cisco ICND1 course.
Prerequisites
To benefit fully from this course, it is recommended that you have the following prerequisite skills and knowledge:
Knowledge and skills equivalent to those learned in Interconnecting Cisco Networking Devices Part 1 (ICND1)
Explain the OSI model and identify network components
Describe the switched LAN technology solution that solves Ethernet issues
Describe how routing expands the network
Understand the host-to-host packet delivery process of TCP/IP
Describe the functions of a WAN
Install, configure, and troubleshoot a small network using the Cisco command-line interface
Manage router and switch startup and configurations
Course Objectives
After completing this course the student should be able to:
Review how to configure and troubleshoot a small network
Expand a small-sized, switched LAN to a medium-sized LAN with multiple switches, supporting VLANs, trunking, and spanning tree
Describe routing concepts as they apply to a medium-sized network and discuss considerations when implementing routing on the network
Configure, verify, and troubleshoot OSPF
Configure, verify, and troubleshoot EIGRP
Determine how to apply ACLs based on network requirements, and configure, verify, and troubleshoot ACLs on a medium-sized network
Describe when to use NAT or PAT on a medium-sized network and configure NAT or PAT on routers, and explain IPv6 addressing and configure IPv6 in a Cisco router
Identify and implement the appropriate WAN technology based on network requirements
